J. Melanie Slaughter was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1992. She is qualified to argue in front of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, which is a federal court with appellate jurisdiction over district courts in Florida and Alabama. She is also accredited to argue before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida.
